Using rideshare in West Seventh area on weekends just got easier

Posted

Beginning July 15, rideshare locations will be expanded in the West 7th Village to accommodate peak demand for rideshare services on Friday and Saturday nights. Additionally, one new rideshare location will be added on the 2900 block of West Seventh Street.

This change will remove pickup areas from the busiest streets and will increase rideshare spaces from 15 to 50 – allowing for a more efficient pickup process in the West 7th Village, easier area access and quick exits for rideshare vehicles.

These changes are made with two factors in mind: improved public safety and more efficient traffic flow.

These zones will operate from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday evening to Sunday morning. Parking meters will be bagged and unavailable during these hours. Permanent signage will be added soon.

Zones will be available at these locations:

  • Side of West Seventh Street between Norwood and Currie streets.
  • Currie Street in the northwest corner of Currie and Morton streets.
  • Bledsoe Street at the southwest corner of Bledsoe and Norwood streets.
  • A large adjoining area at the intersection of Morton and Foch streets.

Review the map above for specific locations.
