Trinity Christian Academy's major fundraiser, the Boots and Pearls Legacy Dinner, sold out long before the Friday, Feb. 9 event. The dinner, auction, and music gala was at The Brooks event facility on Lake Weatherford.
“The goal for this Legacy Dinner event was $125,000. We crushed that goal with over $154,000,” said Nicole Reynolds, development coordinator for the school.
The apex raffle item was a 2023 Onward Club golf cart, a four passenger golf and multi-purpose cart valued at $15,600. Vacation packages, a Pat Green autographed guitar, and high-end custom boots and hats were among items in the auctions. The Onward Club cart was won by Ashley Healey.
“It was incredible to see the room filled with so many people supporting what we do here at Trinity Christian,” Reynolds added. “It was the most successful Legacy Dinner we have had, and It was also special having live entertainment.”
A concert by recording artist Josh Weathers followed the dinner and auction. Weathers has released two albums, Wild Ones and Love Like You Mean It, and his next local public appearance will be Friday, March 22, at Billy Bob's Texas. Weathers’ music can be heard on many music streaming platforms and interviews and performances from The Texas Music Scene can be found on Youtube.
