Center of Hope CEO Paula Robinson considers the future construction project to be an oppor- tunity to expand the center of Hope’s services and consolidate them under one roof.
received when you walk in there reflect the same level of generosity, it’s really exciting,” Robinson added. I’m really proud of it.”
Helping others can be a chal- lenging calling, but the outcomes of what happens when people do receive help are what keeps her going.
“There are times where it’s like ‘why am I doing this?’ but the good is enough good to carry past when there’s rough times,” she said.
Changing lives is fulfilling for her.
“It’s just really rewarding when you see people’s lives really changed. It’s a boost of energy and excitement to help somebody else, and see the possibilities. It’s really encouraging.”
As Robinson helps others, she sees potential missteps she could have made in her life that could have just as easily landed her in a similar crisis.
“I was fortunate and blessed that I have family to support me and help me through some bad choices,” she said. “There were
times where I could have fallen into things that I see people in and I understand. God has given me a great gift of empathy and feeling, and understanding it could’ve been me.”
The gift has been used as a posi- tive force for change.
“The grace that’s been given to me, I have to share,” she said.
When the building is consoli- dated and able to deliver staff ser- vices under one roof, customers will be better served.
“You’re hearing the same repeat- ed messages of encouragement
and hope,” she said. “That’s a very uplifting thing for someone to go through.”
Some who find success at the center come back to volunteer and help others, Robinson said.
“The amount of people that are in here and others that are going through the same situation and
we see their success, that itself is encouraging.”
