The Aledo Varsity Winterguard team recently won the Tulsa Winter Guard International (WGI) competition. The Aledoans placed ahead of second-place Lafayette High School in Wildwood, Missouri and third-place Liberty High School from Liberty, Missouri.
The winter guard program is titled “Wild Horses” and features soloists Morgan Furlow, who portrays a horse, and Kathleen Campbell, who aspires to run with the wild horses.
Both Aledo High School varsity and JV groups will compete in the North Texas Colorguard Association championship on Saturday, April 1, at Lake Ridge High School in Mansfield.
