The Weatherford College softball team’s 2022 season came to an end with a 3-1 loss to Temple College in the Region V-North Softball Championship Tournament on Saturday, May 7 at Stuart Field.
WC made a run to advance to the final three teams, winning three straight games Friday and Saturday morning.
After finishing five innings with a 1-1 tie Saturday night, Temple scored two runs in the top of the fifth, securing the win and advancing to the championship round against No. McLennan.
WC’s Sierra Nixon was 1-for-2 and had the Coyotes’ lone run for the day. Charlee Horton was 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Weatherford’s Amelia Hatthorn and Teoni Lamb combined to give up only one earned run and five hits each with no walks.
The Coyotes finished the season 27-23 overall.
