Two former Bearcats baseball players honored by THSBCA

Two recent graduates and former members of the Aledo Bearcats baseball team have been named first-team Class 5A All-State by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association.

Ryan Jones was chosen at third base. Also, Boyd Thompson was selected at shortstop.

Jones has committed to play collegiately at Texas Tech and Thompson has committed to Seminole State College in Seminole, Oklahoma.

The two were instrumental cogs in yet another fine season by the Bearcats. They won district with a 10-2 league mark, finished with a 26-13-1 overall record, and advanced to the third round of the playoffs. They swept Fort Worth South Hills in bidistrict and defeated Colleyville Heritage in three games before falling to Argyle in two games.
