TCA Update

Boys basketball had one game this week and had to work around the weather. The game was pushed from Friday night to Saturday afternoon. Despite the schedule change the Eagles still came out and fought hard against Lake Country Christian, which is currently ranked No. 7 in the state in TAPPS 4A.

Junior Guard Kanyon Kelley led all scorers on both sides scoring 22 points against a tough and physical defense. Those 22 points put Kelley over the top as the school’s new single season scoring leader with 604 total points.

“I cannot begin to tell you how proud I am of Kanyon and his leadership on our team this year,” said coach Daniel Perez. “He embodies everything our program stands for. He is selfless, tough, accountable, teachable, and he brings the energy everyday in practices and games. I am so happy for him and his ability to earn this accomplishment while still being a great teammate and not making it all about himself. That is a rare thing in the game of basketball these days, and Kanyon is a one of a kind young man.”

The girls basketball team dropped their third game in a row against district foe Lake Country Christian Saturday afternoon, 20-62. Offensively, the Eagles struggled to score early and dug themselves into the hole. Margaret Cowley and Caroline Thompson led the team with six points and five points respectively.  Rebound leaders were Margaret Cowley (7 rebounds) and Macy Prestwood (8 rebounds).
