The TCA Clay Target Team competed in a 200 Sporting Clays event at Greystone Castle. on April 9. Wes Roddie placed second in varsity men’s, McKenna Sims places second in varsity women’s, and Kate Roddie placed third in women’s.
The team competed in the Scholastic Clay Target Program DFW Championship on the weekend of April 23. This shoot was particularly challenging with the 30 mph gusting winds. 258 students and 16 teams competed in three events (Sporting Clays, Trap, and Skeet). TCA finished fifth overall, adding another shooting trophy to the TCA gym.
Wes Roddie finished second High Over All (HOA). Wes Roddie’s combined score of all three events was second in the highly competitive Men’s varsity division. Wes was the top TCA scorer in all three events making him the most valuable performer on the team.
McKenna Sims placed fourth HOA in the varsity women’s division.
Brogan Chapman, a first year shooter, had his first perfect station (shooting every clay) and achieved a personal best score.
