TCA Basketball teams fall to tough opposition

Trinity Christian Academy boys basketball opened up district play last week competing on the road facing Lubbock Trinity, the no. 2 ranked team in TAPPS 4A, and Lubbock Christian, the no.8 ranked team in TAPPS 4A.

The Eagles fell short in both contests against very tough opponents. Trinity will be back in action this week playing at home on Jan. 15 in a rematch against Lubbock Christian.

Kanyon Kelley led scoring against Lubbock Trinity with 15 points. Toby Thomes and Brody Blauser contributed 10 and 8 respectively.  Kelley also led TCA against Lubbock Christian with 21 points. Others with double digit scoring were Blauser with 17, Landry Crumpler with 12, and Thomes with 11.

Lady Eagles fall to Lubbock schools

The girls basketball team opened district play with back to back games against Lubbock Trinity (no.7 in the state) and Lubbock Christian (no. 1 in the state).

The Lady Eagles dropped Friday night’s game with Lubbock Trinity 75-12.  

Defensively, the team was led by Paige Bull (4 steals) and Meredith Miller. 

Macy Prestwood and Caroline Thompson led the team in rebounding with 8 each. 

Saturday afternoon, the Lady Eagles tipped off against Lubbock Christian. Losing  59-19. Paige Bull and Caroline Thompson led the team in scoring with 6 points each. Followed by Macy Prestwood (4 points and 7 rebounds).
