Fueled by a tenacious defense, the Willow Park Trinity Christian Academy Lady Eagles won 48-31 at No. 1 seed Dallas Christian in a TAPPS Class 4A playoff game, Tuesday Feb 20.
Sadie Gough led the Lady Eagles with 21 points and Emily Ickert scored 20. Ella Cockrum scored four and Berlynn Kazknowski added three.
Cockrum and Carolyn Thompson were praised for their rebounding, while Kaznowski was praised for adding a spark to the offense and defense. Ava Luecker was also lauded for her play.
TCA was 19-of-25 at the free throw line and hit more 3-point baskets (7) than 2-pointers (4). Ickert hit four treys and Gough made three.
The Lady Eagles will play Lake Country Christian School in the regional finals Friday, Feb . 23 at 6:30 p.m. at Azle High School.
