Willow Park Police responded to a call reporting gunshots heard in the Mesa Springs Road area on Oct. 27. This was at least the 10th call received in October regarding gunshots.
Responding officers quickly arrived at the scene and conducted a thorough search of the area. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the incident.
Officers conducted an immediate investigation and identified a suspect linked to the gunfire. As a result, a warrant for the suspect’s arrest was issued.
On Oct. 31, the WPPD successfully apprehended the suspect, 34-year-old Ryan Lecompte, during a traffic stop. He has been arrested and is facing charges that include deadly conduct, a third-degree felony.
City officials stressed the WPPD is committed to ensuring the safety of the community and will continue to work diligently to investigate this matter fully.
Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to local law enforcement.
