Poker Night Fundraiser

The Aledo Bearcats annual Poker Night Fundraiser is Jan. 18 at the Morningstar Amenity Center. The event supports the Aledo High baseball and features dinner, drinks, dancing, silent auction, raffle and more.

Pick six for Keys

Former Aledo Bearcat and true freshman Davhon Keys intercepted a pass and returned it 41 yards for a touchdown in LSU’s 44-31 victory against Baylor in the Texas Bowl played at NRG Stadium in Houston.

Keys also posted three tackles in the contest. For the season, he played in a dozen games, posted 31 tackles, including 1.5 for a loss and 1.5 sacks.

Keys helped lead Aledo to three state championships in 2020, 2022 and 2023.

BOYS SOCCER

Weatherford Kangaroos 1, Arlington Heights 0

The Kangaroos captured consolation in a tournament in San Antonio as Jose Arvelaiz scored the game’s lone goal. He and Juan Perez were named Players of the Game.

The Kangaroos also defeated San Antonio Sotomayer 1-0 with David Delgado and Daniel Garcia Players of the Game and lost 3-0 to El Paso Pebble Hills.

Weatherford JV

B Team defeated Mansfield Timber view 3-0. Two goals by Temperance Medlicott and one by Morgan Banfield. Lost to Lake Worth.
