Safe Sitter is a medically accurate program that teaches boys and girls aged 11 through 14 years how to handle emergencies when caring for children. The class teaches safe and nurturing childcare techniques, behavior management skills, and appropriate responses to medical emergencies. Youth will gain confidence, responsibility, and even prepare for babysitting jobs. Basics CPR will be introduced; however, this is not a CPR certification course.
The course costs $50, which includes Safe Sitter materials and snacks. Participants should bring a sack lunch. Any youth who would like to take the class can sign up by registering online at https://parkercounty4h.wufoo.com/forms/svx6rjk1b6zn5g/ or calling the Parker County Extension office at 817-598-6168.
