Rodeo: Area hopefuls seek prep titles

Parker County well-represented in NTHSRA finals

The 2024-25 North Texas High School Rodeo Association season concludes this weekend when champions in each event are crowned at the NTHSRA Finals at Cowtown Coliseum in the Fort Worth Stockyards.

The field of finalists features competitors from throughout Parker County. The top 15 in each event at the end of the regular season qualified for this weekend’s finals on May 30-31.

The list of qualifiers from the area and their respective events includes:

Barrel racing — 2. Marli Donegan, Perrin; 3. Logan Phillips, Springtown; 4. Hevenli Scribner, Azle; 11. Brinley Howard, Springtown; 12. Annabelle McNelly, Aledo.

Breakaway roping — 8. Donegan; 12. Cainlee Dale, Millsap; 12. Paige Bunero, Springtown.

Bull riding — 1. Colton Phillips, Springtown; 2. Cameron Tune, Perrin.

Calf roping — 11. Cole Lewis, Weatherford.

Chute dogging — 5. Cade Walker, Springtown; 12. Colt Mitchell, Brock.

Ride-up goat tying — 7. Andrea Allred, Azle; 10. Logan Phillips, Springtown.

Walk-up goat tying — 6. Allred, 11. Phillips.

Poles — 1. Scribner; 8. Aubrey Lawrence, Azle; 10. Donegan; 11. Caldwell.

Ribbon roping — 5. Bunero, 12. Lewis.

Steer wrestling — 3. Walker.

Team roping: header — 1. Dale; 4. Shane McCulloch, Weatherford; 5. Walker Parkey, Brock.

Team roping: heeler — 2. Parkey; 3. Marshall Dowdy, Springtown; 6. McCulloch; 14. Lewis.
