Just as they did on the court, the Aledo Racquet Cats dominated when it came time to announce the All-District 5-5A team tennis awards selected by the league coaches.

Aledo posted a perfect 6-0 run through district en route to an 18-3 overall record. They advanced to the third round of the playoffs before being eliminated by Grapevine.

“We were given an all-district award at every single line/position of our lineup, meaning every player was one of the top three best players at their respective position in the lineup in our district — most of them being first team, best player,” Aledo coach Joe McCoy said.

McCoy, by the way, was named Coach of the Year. Lila Satterfield was named the Girls MVP.

Other superlatives went to Tai Van, Boys Freshman of the Year; Alex Vozeh, Boys Newcomer of the Year; and Kieren Christensen, Girls Newcomer of the Year.
