Loving mother Phyllis Gebhardt passed away at the age of 67 on June 14, surrounded by her family.

Phyllis was born July 15, 1956, in Long Beach, California.

After moving to Texas, Phyllis attended Texas Woman’s University. While in school, Phyllis realized her passion for teaching. In 1977 she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Teaching, being one of the youngest graduates from Texas Woman’s University at the time.

After graduation, Phyllis went on to become a teacher. She was passionate about teaching and serving children. In 1988, she acquired her Master of Education and her licensed professional counselor certification from The University of North Texas.

As a loyal servant of God, Phyllis spent many of her hours dedicating her life to counseling children and family. She spent 43 years as an elementary counselor in Arlington ISD. Many of those years Phyllis served as a lead counselor over several schools, working tirelessly within the community to best support her school and students.

Even after retiring in 2020, she spent her remaining years as a guest teacher for Aledo ISD, where her grandchildren attend school. Her family is at peace knowing she is with the Lord. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband James; daughters Emilee and Claire; son in-law Bailey; grandchildren Levi and Paislee; sister Kathy; nieces Pamela and Kimberly; great nieces Brooke and Elizabeth; and granddog Elvis.

The service will be at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, at Christ Chapel West Campus, 3910 E Interstate 20 Service Rd S in Willow Park.
