Phyllis was born July 15, 1956, in Long Beach, California.

Many of those years Phyllis served as a lead counselor over several schools, working tirelessly within the community to best support her school and students.

Even after retiring in 2020, she spent her remaining years as a guest teacher for Aledo ISD, where her grandchildren attend school. Her family is at peace knowing she is with the Lord. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband James; daughters Emilee and Claire; son in-law Bailey; grandchildren Levi and Paislee; sister Kathy; nieces Pamela and Kimberly; great nieces Brooke and Elizabeth; and granddog Elvis.
