Sometimes school friendships last a long time, and for Elizabeth Allanach and Erin Davis, a friendship that started at Steward Elementary is still going after post graduate studies. The 2019 Aledo High School graduates both earned their Doctorate of Pharmaceutical Medicine in May 2025 from St. Louis College of Pharmacy.

Although classmates, Elizabeth and Erin were not teammates, with Elizabeth playing Ladycat tennis and Erin Ladycat basketball. However, both students continued their sports while in college. Their families, with parents Michele and Dennis Davis and Juliet and Will Allanach, lived near each other in the Deer Creek area of Aledo and saw each other often.

“We grew up knowing each other, but I think the first class we actually had together was AP biology,” Elizabeth recalled. “In college, it was always great to have each other around and visit during breaks.”

Elizabeth’s interest in the medical field developed from her mother being a physical therapist and witnessing her grandmother’s journey recovering from cancer. Erin became interested after choosing a pharmaceutical lecture while participating in a high school freshman career day.

“Another reason I chose St. Louis is they have a strong basketball program,” Erin added.

Elizabeth plans to continue specialized pharmaceutical studies and Erin will intern at Baylor Scott and White All Saints in Fort Worth.
