The Aledo Ladycats Black Team successfully defended their championship in a tournament on one of their home courses - but not their own tournament.

The Battle at the Creek, though played at Squaw Creek Golf Course in Willow Park, is hosted by the Denton School District. Still, the tournament belonged to the Ladycats once again.

The Ladycats Black shot a 339 for the title, while the Ladycats Orange was second with a 385. The Bearcats Orange shot 340 to finish fourth among the boys.

Emily Crick led the Ladycats Black with an 81, two shots ahead of teammate Reagan Gilliland with an 83, with Kyla Morales coming in at 84. Karlee Shaw posted a 91 to round out Aledo’s scoring, while Kennedi Parker shot 94.

The four lowest scores comprise the team total.

For the Ladycats Orange, Harper Price shot 92, followed by Sara Michaelis at 94. Catherine Haney shot 99, Abby Gray had a 100 and Addison Russ finished at 108.

The Bearcats were led by Grayson Freeman with an 80, with Cade Moore next at 82 and Brian Yarbrough at 85. William Kirkman posted a 93 and Johnnie Reed came in at 98.

The Aledo boys Black and Orange Teams were competing in the District Preview at Sugar Tree at press time. They end the fall season at the Mansfield Lake Ridge Two Step at Tangle Ridge on Nov. 10-11.

The girls Black and Orange Teams are also playing in the District Preview. The Black will conclude the fall season at the State Preview at White Wing in Georgetown Nov. 3-4, while the Orange Team wraps up the fall in the Burleson Centennial Tournament at Southern Oaks Nov. 3-4.
