Led by Emily Crick, the Aledo Ladycats began the fall golf season with a fourth-place finish at the Lady Pirates Invitational this past weekend at Harbor Lakes Golf Club in Granbury.

The Lady Pirates had a two-day score of 686. They began with a 346 on Friday and finished with a 340 on Saturday.

Crick paced the Aledo Black team, shooting a 163 over two days. She opened with an 84 and bounced back with a career-low round of 79.

Also for the Ladycats Black, Kennedi Parker posted a 173 (83-90), Kyla Morales (92-85) and Reagan Gilliland (90-87) each shot 177 and Sarah Michaelis had a 178 (89-89). The four lowest scores in each round comprise the team score.

"Super proud of the girls on the varsity Black team. My goal was to get all of those girls into the 80s at some point this season. They did it in the first tournament of the year," Aledo coach Brian Mourning said. "Really happy for Emily. Others played well against a tough field."

Aledo Orange had a two-day total of 791. Playing with only four players, they rebounded from an opening-round 409 to shoot 382 on the second day.

Harper Price led the Orange team with a 177 (88-89). Karlee Shaw started with a 101 and came back to improve by 18 strokes and shoot 83.

Also, Abby Gray shot 195 (99-96) and Addison Russ posted a 235 (121-114).

"I like where we are as a team and as a program with the loss of three kids last year on the Black team," Mourning said. "Several others on the Orange show flashes of good play. We just need to build on that tournament and get better each time out."

Both teams are back in action Oct. 19 at the Battle at the Creek at Squaw Creek Golf Course in Willow Park.
