Amberlie Daniels captured a pair of gold medals at the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Class 4A State Track and Field Meet in Hewitt on the weekend of May 6.
Daniels won one individual gold medal, winning the high jump by clearing 5 feet. She then joined Libby Tovar, Gracee Whiteaker, and Sophie Scott to win the 1600-meter relay with a time of 4 minutes, 7.46 seconds.
Also medaling for the Lady Eagles was Ella Cockrum with a silver in the discus. For the Eagles, the 800 relay of Matthew Sykes, Caleb Nelson, Evan Chrane and Hudson Quinn also brought home a silver medal.
At the regional meet in Arlington on April 27, Ella Cockrum won a regional championship in the girls discus. She also qualified for state in this same event last season.
Reigning boys state discus champion Ben Camp finished third at regionals.
As a team, the Lady Eagles were the North Region runners-up and the Eagles were third.
