Lady Eagles off to rough start in league play

The Trinity Christian Lady Eagles volleyball team is still looking for its first win in Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools District 1-4A after dropping a pair of matches in Midland and Lubbock this past week.

The Lady Eagles (14-10 overall, 0-4 in district) fell to Midland Classical 3-0, with all three games being close (25-23, 25-21, 25-18). Sadie Gough led Trinity with three aces and 25 assists, and Emily Ickert recorded eight kills. 

Trinity Christian Lubbock then defeated the Lady Eagles in a tough three-game matchup. Bella Sigala led the Lady Eagles with seven kills, and Meredith Miller added two aces.

Previously, the Lady Eagles dropped their first two league matches at home to Pantego Christian (3-1) and Arlington Grace Prep (3-0). Against Pantego, Margaret Cowley led the way with 12 kills and a block, while Sigala recorded 11 kills and a block.

Ickert had three aces and a half dozen kills. Against Grace Prep Academy, Cowley dominated the net with 10 kills and six blocks and Caroline Thompson served three aces and 18 digs.
