Five Swimcats head to Austin

Five Aledo swimmers qualified for state competition after placing first or second at the regional swim meet Feb. 7-8 in Mansfield.

Sam Ogden placed second in boys 100-yard freestyle and set a new Aledo High School record in the backstroke, placing first with a time of 53.79 seconds.

Haley Roberson placed second in girls 200-yard Individual Medley, and also qualified along with fellow 200-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle relay team members Kamryn Kupper, Breanna Olivieri, and Vicky Crews. he girls placed second in both events.

Additional Aledo swimmers who competed at regional were:

Boys 200 yd. Medley Relay : sixth place (Hunter Gregory, Sam Ogden, Tanner Howse, and Porter Lane)

Girls 200 yd freestyle: fifth place : Kamryn Kupper

Girls 100 yd butterfly: fourth place: Corah Satterfield; eighth place: Vicky Crews

Girls 500 yd freestyle: third place: Haley Roberson

Girls 100 yd backstroke:six6th place: Kamryn Kupper; seventh place: Corah Satterfield

Avery Faulkner, Tila Moeller, and Kyle Scharlow also competed.

The 2022 UIL Swim & Dive State Championships will be held Feb. 18-19 at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center in Austin.
