Court Administrator earns Municipal Court Achievement

City of Weatherford Court Administrator Tiffany Bagwell earned the level three Certified Municipal Court Clerk designation. 

On April 9, 2024 Jennifer Bozorgnia, who is the director of court services of the Texas Court Clerks Association, presented Bagwell with the milestone.

“This achievement is not merely a testament to her expertise, but also a reflection of the dedication and commitment required to serve our communities with excellence,” Bozorgnia said. 

Bagwell joins an elite group of just 145 individuals across Texas who have earned the level three designation. 

The award was given to Bagwell at the April 9 Weatherford City Council meeting and was presented by the mayor of Weatherford plus city council members. Bagwell said a few words and thanked her court.

“This certification wouldn’t have done much good if I hadn’t been able to take the knowledge and experience and come back and put that into practice at court,” Bagwell said. “We had a phenomenal court before, but I think in the last couple of years we have really knocked it out of the park.”

Weatherford Mayor Paul Paschall said a couple of nice words about Bagwell and why she deserved the award.

“You may be one of 145 to have this designation, but to us you are number one of 145,” Mayor Paschall said. 

To receive this particular certification, one must go through a level three course of study which includes two phases of study. Phase one requires 28 hours of reading and education and takes one year to complete.. Phase two requires court observation and journaling, which can take up to one to two years to complete.

Then the person must pass the level three exam which is in three parts that you must pay and register for. Finally, a person must attend a 24-hour assessment clinic and may only be done once.

The purpose of the assessment clinic is to build confidence in performance of one’s management duties and become prepared for providing effective oversight of court operations.
