The May Hudson Oaks City Council meeting opened with the swearing in of two council members who were unopposed in recent elections. Daniel Cross, Place 5 and Sean Cannon, Place 4 took the oath of office for another term. The council also announced the hiring of police officer Agnew Mathis IV to the Hudson Oaks Police Department. Mathis was sworn in at an earlier meeting.
After speaking about Mathis, Police Chief Michael Baldwin presented the April police report to the council noting, “The numbers don’t reflect how busy we have been,” with increased construction, traffic, and increased population. The number of alarms responded to increased from 27 to 40 and the agency responded to on 28 assist incidents, which was down from March.
