Rayla Castillo finished 47th at the Class 6A State Cross Country Meet Saturday, Nov. 4 at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. The senior clocked a time of 18 minutes, 43.80 seconds over the 5-kilometer course.
It was her first time to compete at state. She did so after finishing second at the District 3-6A Meet and ninth at the Region I Meet in Lubbock.
Her time of 18:35.8 at regionals was a career best.
