Bearcats, Ladycats sweep district meet

The Aledo Bearcats and Ladycats repeated as District 5-5A champions Wednesday and Thursday, April 12-13 in the league meet held at Bearcat Stadium. For the Bearcats, it was their fourth consecutive district championship since 2019 (there was no meet in 2020 due to COVID-19), while the Ladycats won for a third straight year.

The top four finishers in each event qualified for the Area 5/6 Meet at Texan Stadium in Justin Friday, April 21. From there, the top four finishers in each event will qualify for the Region 1 Meet in Lubbock April 28-29. The top two finishers at regionals advance to state in Austin May 11-13.
