The small town of Annetta has once again demonstrated its big heart. The annual Toys for Tots drive, which concluded on Dec. 13, was called a resounding success by city officials, thanks to the overwhelming generosity of its residents.
The drive, organized by Councilman Rico Remigio, saw a significant outpouring of support. By the end of the campaign, the community had filled two boxes and donated two bicycles. The two boxes were so full, it could’ve actually filled a third box almost half way.
Annetta Mayor Sandy Roberts expressed her gratitude for the town’s generosity, stating, “So thankful for Rico Remigio and family for coordinating the Toys for Tots event every year for the Town of Annetta. I am always impressed with the giving spirit of our citizens every year. I hope that everyone has a happy and safe holiday.”
The donated toys will be distributed to children in need within the local community through partnerships with social service agencies benefiting children in Parker, Hood, Somervell and Erath counties.
