Aledo tennis still perfect in district

The Aledo team tennis squad improved to 3-0 (9-2 overall) in District 5-5A after easily disposing of Saginaw 18-1 on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

In boys doubles, the No. 1 duo of Hogan Posey/Will Beyer won 6-1, 6-0, as did Craig Mason/Ben Farmer (6-0, 6-0) and Jacob Heckathorn/Francois Britz (6-0, 6-1).  

Girls doubles were led by the top pair of Bryanna Ore/Kenley Germany (6-2, 6-2), while Paige Federman/Elli Kate Bussmeir (6-1, 6-0) and Patrice Loftin/Natalie Nawrocki (6-2, 6-2) also posted sweep victories.  

In mixed doubles, Scott Mason/Eleanor Jack outlasted their foes 6-3, 6-7, 10-5. 

All boys singles matches posted wins, including Farmer (6-0, 6-1), C. Mason (6-1, 6-0), Heckathorn (6-0, 6-0) and Britz (6-0, 6-0). With the match already won, No. 1 player S. Mason and No. 2 Posey played pro sets and beat their opponents 8-0. 

In girls singles, early wins were posted by Bussmeir (6-0, 6-0), Germany (6-2, 6-3), Federman (6-0, 6-1) and Heydman (6-0, 6-1). Pro sets were played by No. 1 Orr (8-2) and Jack (4-8).  

The Bearcats/Ladycats will return action when they take on Brewer at Aledo High School on Sept. 20.
