The Aledo Bearcats and Ladycats got the fall golf season going over the Sept. 20 weekend. The Bearcats played in the Bart Granger Memorial at Pecan Valley in Benbrook, while the Ladycats were at the Granbury Lady Pirates Fall Classic at Harbor Lakes in Granbury.
The Bearcats shot a three-round total of 957 in the Granger, named after the late Fort Worth Paschal golfer who died in a car wreck years ago. They had rounds of 320, 326 and finished strong with a 311.
The tournament featured a field of more than 50 teams.
The Ladycats Black team finished sixth with a team score of 701 (347-354), while the Ladycats Orange shot 825.
The Bearcats were led by state qualifier Braden Stokes, who shot 236 (74-86-76), followed by William Kirkman, 238 (81-78-79); Ethan Elmore, 240 (83-83-74); Tyler Anderson, 245 (84-79-82) and Logan Lund, 252 (82-86-84).
The four lowest individual scores in each round comprise the team score.
The Ladycats were led by Kylie Kirkland with a 178 (89-89), followed by Sydney Purdon, 179 (88-91), Reagan Gilliland, 182 (97-85); and Harper Price, 186 (97-89).
Emily Crick shot a 73 on the opening day, but missed the second day due to a commitment with the Texas Junior Golf Tour.
