Aledo student dies in car crash

Posted

Kai Elliott, a 2024 Aledo High School graduate, died in an automobile accident on the evening of July 4. Aledo ISD Superintendent Susan Bohn released the following statement:

"I am heavy-hearted today in writing to you to share that one of our Class of 2024 Bearcat graduates Kai Elliott died on Thursday evening in a car accident. On behalf of our Bearcat family, I want to share my most sincere condolences with Kai’s family and friends, classmates, and staff who have served Kai in Aledo ISD, including most recently at the Aledo Learning Center.

"Kai had the biggest smile and never met a stranger. He was a happy-go-lucky young man who had many friends. Please pray for all who loved Kai; we will miss him very much.

"I would also ask for you to join me in praying for a full and swift recovery for three other former Bearcats who were involved in this accident and sustained injuries.

"We will share funeral information for Kai as it becomes available. Even though it is summer break for our staff, our AHS lead counselor Lindsay Fuller is available via email at lfuller@aledoisd.org if you have questions on how to talk to your children about death or to offer additional resources or support, as needed.

Again, our prayers are with Kai’s family, teachers, friends and classmates.

Truly, Susan"
