The Texas Education Agency recently put out their accountability scores for districts across the state and Aledo ISD got an A with 93 out of 100 points. 10 out of the 12 schools in the district got an A on their “school report cards” with the other two got high B’s.
For the grades the TEA bases it off three main categories:
Student Achievement — based on students’ performance on state-standardized testing such as the STAAR, graduation rates, and how prepared students are for life after high school. Aledo ISD got an A in this category.
School Progress — based on how students perform over time and how the district’s performance compares to other districts with similar economically disadvantaged student populations. Aledo ISD got a B in this category.
Closing the Gap — based on how well the district is ensuring all student groups are successful. Aledo ISD got an A in this category.
Aledo ISD Board of Trustees president Forrest Collins said “We had an A once again. Teachers got healthy ratings this year, so we appreciate our legislators for doing that. And we just appreciate all the work that’s been done over the summer.”
