Aledo ISD Board President Forrest Collins has announced his intention to run for re-election for Place 4 on the board of trustees.

In his announcement, Collins pointed to the accomplishments of the board.

“Together, we have achieved historic success in Aledo ISD,” Collins said. “From academic achievements and increased student opportunities to improved facilities and strategic planning, our district has embraced the idea that we are stronger when parents, educators, and our community work together to support our children. We’ve prioritized excellence in education, ensured fiscal responsibility, and fostered an environment where students thrive both academically and personally.”

Collins, a business owner, has two children who are students in the district. His wife is a special education teacher.

“I’m deeply invested in the success of our students and community,” Collins said. “As our community grows, we must prepare students for the future while preserving the unique qualities that make Aledo ISD special. We must continue to provide critical resources to all students, support our teachers, and push back against government overreach. It is imperative that we continue to invest in our students and provide all children with exceptional educational opportunities. We’ve set a high standard, and we must keep building on our culture of excellence.”

Collins said he would continue to be a strong voice for parents, students, and educators.

We will continue to have meaningful conversations about the future of our district, challenge the status quo, and never settle for less than what our students deserve and what our teachers have earned,” he said. Serving our students, families, and educators has been one of the greatest honors of my life.
