The Aledo High School counseling team was awarded the prestigious CREST award for counseling program excellence on Feb. 2.

Aledo has only been recognized once before.

The CREST (Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas) award is given by the Texas School Counselor Association, and is designed to recognize and honor exemplary school counseling programs across the state.

It helps school counselors evaluate and improve their programs, as well as promote their services to students, parents, and the community. The CREST Award focuses on the impact school counselors have on students’ achievements, career aspirations, personal growth, and social development.

Aledo High School’s counseling team consists of four counselors and a registrar, serving 2,500 students.
