A Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of Weatherford Independent School District will be held November 8, 2012, beginning at 7:00 PM in the Board Room of the District Services Building, 1100 Longhorn Drive, Weatherford, Texas.
Call to order Roll Call: Certification by the President that, "The Provisions of Section 551.041 Sub Chapter C, Government Code as Amended by the 73rd Legislature have been complied with in connection with public notice of this meeting and a quorum is present."

Superintendent's Report/Communications and Information
Hear Austin Elementary School Principal Report Principal Jenny Morris will present a report on Austin Elementary School. Highlights will include student and staff information.
Hear Leading Indicator Process (LIP) report. The Leading Indicator Process (LIP) for the Weatherford ISD is reported to the Board to reflect progress toward the accomplishment of the five Strategic Goals in the WISD 2008-2013 Strategic Plan. Also, included for the Board’s information is a summary report for the Monthly LIP Report. The Board LIP Summary Report contains the total number of data elements reported for each LIP measure, a summary of the number of data elements reported that are coded red, yellow, or green, whether a Mid-Course Correction was reported, and a reference page
number in the LIP report where the data are located.
Hear architectural firm report. Richard A. Jaynes and Stephen L. Hafer, Principal Architects with VLK Architects, will present a report reviewing VLK’s qualifications and recent accomplishments.
Hear report on TASA/TASB Convention. The annual TASA/TASB Convention was held September 28-30, 2012, in Austin, Texas. Board Members attending will present a report on Convention highlights.
Review report on Out-of-State trips. At the August 9, 2012 Board Meeting the Board approved revisions to Board Policy FMG (Local) which delegated the authority to approve out-of-state trips for students to the superintendent. This report will show the number of trips that have been requested to date for the 2012-2013 school year.
Hear the Technology Department’s Work System Review. An annual review of the Technology Department's Work System has been completed. A written report is included and highlights the following categories: System Description, System Integrity, System Measures that Matter, System Performance, Recommendations for Changes in System and/or Policy, and System Innovations. A summary of the material will be presented at the meeting by Harry Jones, Chief Technology Officer.
Discuss and Consider:
Tax report for September 2012;
Comparison of revenues and expenditures to budget;
Cash position by bank account;
General Budget Amendments #3; and Documentation will be presented at the Board Meeting.
Explusion of Weatherford Ninth Grade Center student.
Discuss future agenda items.
Consider one-time lump sum payment to all eligible permanent employees. The Board of Trustees approved language in the 2012-2013 Compensation Plan that allows for consideration and possible approval of a one-time lump sum payment to staff. If approved, this payment will not be considered an increase in base pay and does not create an on-going expenditure commitment.
Consider local policy revisions recommended by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Policy Services Update 95 on second reading. Update 95 incorporates recent changes to the Administrative Code regarding bilingual education, student retention and promotion, the required instructional program, tuition for transfer students, and graduation requirements. Enclosed to
assist your review of the revisions to local policy are Vantage Points – A Board Member’s Guide to Update 95, Explanatory Notes, and a copy of the revised local policies.
Consider interlocal agreement for Greenwood property. The Weatherford ISD administration is recommending entering into an interlocal agreement with another governmental entity for the property commonly known as Greenwood Community consisting of 6 acres. This property is located at the southwest corner of Greenwood Road and Greenwood Cut Off Road in Parker County.
Closed Session per Texas Government Code.
Reconvene from Closed Session for action relative to items considered during Closed Session.
Adjourn to Closed Session pursuant to Texas Government Code Section 551.074, Personnel, to deliberate regarding the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee; or to hear a complaint or charge against an officer or employee; 551.071, Consultation with the Board's Attorney; 551.129, Consultation with the Board’s attorney via phone conference; and 551.072, Real Property."
