Culpepper and Merriweather Circus, the first circus to visit Aledo, will hold two shows at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26 in Bearcat Park.
Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children ages 2-12. Tickets are available at Aledo City Hall, the East Parker County Library, the East Parker County Chamber of Commerce and the 4-H Administration Building. Tickets may be purchased at the door for $12 for adults and $7 for children. Proceeds from the event support Aledo 4-H.
Circus events include high wire stunts and animal acts with lions, tigers, bird and dogs. Games, a bouncy house and pony rides are also available. For more information, call Aledo City Hall at 817-441-7016.

The annual Aledo Chili Supper, Silent Auction and Style Show will run from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Aledo Community Center, 104 Robinson Court, across from City Hall. Tickets are $5 per adult and $3 per child 8 and under. Tickets may be purchased at Aledo City Hall, East Parker County Library or the East Parker County Chamber of Commerce. All proceeds go to benefit the Aledo Community Center to help keep rental fees low.

The City of Aledo and the Aledo Economic Development Corporation will present the 12th annual Christmas Tyme in Aledo from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 in downtown Aledo. Events will begin at the Aledo Community Center with the arrival of Santa on a fire truck at approximately 6 p.m. to light the Christmas tree, followed by photographs with the children.
The streets will be filled with the sound of music from live bands and choirs, which can be heard throughout the Historic Downtown area. Also, this event is spotlighted by the popular horse drawn wagon rides from 6-9 p.m. with Christmas treats and delicious food.
Maverick Street, from FM 1187 to Old Annetta Road and a section of Oak Street, from Elm to Mesquite, will be blocked off allowing only wagon and pedestrian traffic.
Aledo Mayor Kit Marshall emphasizes that “Christmas Tyme in Aledo is a family affair for the entire community, and the City of Aledo invites its residents and all visitors to enjoy a fun-filled day with all the activities. Don’t forget to stop by the Aledo Community Center for the annual Arts and Crafts Fair.”
The Aledo City Council will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25 at the Aledo Community Center, 104 Robinson Court.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the FM 1187 and Aledo Trail projects will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25 near Aledo City Hall. Construction on widening 1187 from Aledo to I-20 will begin shortly thereafter, as will work on the Aledo Trail one-way loop around the railroad track.

First Friday in Aledo will present the Dog Daze of Summer Fun Fest from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, August 3 in Historic Downtown Aledo. Downtown merchants will be open late for shopping, food and family fun. A free concert featuring Texas Road House Band will be at 7 p.m.

The Second First Friday of the summer will be from 6-9 p.m. on July 6 in Historic Downtown Aledo. Southern Heritage will perform and there will be a classic car show and an outdoor movie.
First Fridays in Aledo will begin on Friday, June 1 in downtown Aledo. Local businesses will be open late and offer food, shopping, children’s activities and free live music featuring Katie Keenie at 7 p.m. followed by a fireworks show. First Fridays are sponsored by the City of Aledo and the Aledo Economic Development Corp.
