Saturday Fundraiser scheduled

Aledo Vet Clinic will hold a fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on behalf of an employee who recently had surgery but has no insurance.

Activities include a bake sale, hotdogs and drinks.

Memorial service scheduled for Jim Thorp

A memorial service for Parker County Treasurer Jim Thorp has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 29 at Aledo United Methodist Church. Fr. Jay Atwood of St. Francis Episcopal Church will preside.

Sponsor a Spay

Puppy and kitten season has already begun at the animal shelter with numerous puppies being turned in as "unwanted." Help reduce unwanted litters by Sponsoring A Spay. Parker County Pets Alive is seeking $50 sponsors (any amount is appreciated) to help defer the cost to spay or neuter pets in need at the upcoming March 28 low-cost pet clinic in Weatherford. All residents, regardless of income, are welcome to take advantage of these low-cost services. Alter surgery is by appointment only, other services are walk in basis from 10 am to noon.
