Beatrice “Bea” Schmidtzinsky, 87, of Aledo, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 21, 2023.
Bea was born March 21, 1936 in Fredericksburg to Helmuth and Elsie (Keller) Klinksiek. She married Charles Schmidtzinsky on November 1, 1955. She had four daughters. The family moved to Aledo in 1967. She retired from Mervyn's department store in 2006. Her hobbies included quilting, gardening, and reading mystery novels.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; daughter, Barbara Schmidtzinsky; and sister, Mildred Eckhardt.
She is survived by daughters, Geralyn Schmidtzinsky, Sheila Hill, and Gail Arnold (Lewis); grandchildren, Jeffrey Barrow, Jr., Travis Hill, Lee Arnold (Justine), Elizabeth Grimes (Chris), Joseph Arnold, and Terrance Nielsen (Kylie); great-grandsons, Connor Hill, Thorin Nielsen, and Hagen Nielsen; brothers, Clayton Klinksiek and James Klinksiek (Sue); sisters, Virginia Smith (Richard), and Marion Ottmers (J. W.); sister-in-law’s, Louise Martinez (Gilbert), VerNell Martinez (Romero), and Leola Brodbeck; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, at Galbreaith-Pickard Hilltop Chapel, 4941 I-20 Frontage Road, Willow Park, followed by Rosary at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 16250 Old Weatherford Road, Aledo, followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.
The deceased will be transported to Schaetter's Funeral Home, 301 E San Antonio Street in Fredericksburg for a memorial service prior to burial. Visitation at Schaetter's will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 27, with the memorial service at 11 a.m. Graveside services and interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery. There will be a reception afterwards at St. Mary's Catholic Church Fellowship Hall, 304 W San Antonio St.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bea's honor may be made to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Aledo or to a charity of your choice.
