Phillip Ray Spracklen, 56, a loving son, brother and uncle passed away peacefully December 16, 2010. Memorial service: 4:00 PM, Wednesday December 22, 2010 in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association. Phil was born August 14, 1954 in Fort Worth. He graduated from Sherman High School. Phil received a degree in Music from UTA in 1979. He will be remembered for his love of family, music, movies, sports and his pets. Phil was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Spracklen, brother, Mark Spracklen, and a niece Lauren Lupher. His survivors include his mother Charleen Bedinger; brother, Paul Spracklen and wife Penny; sister, Linda Lupher and husband Gary; nephews, Michael, Keith, Ryan, Zackery and Mason Spracklen and Zane Burkhalter.

George E. Cobb, 75, of Weatherford passed away Friday, December 17, 2010.
George was born January 9, 1935 in Dublin, Ireland to Annie and Frank Cobb.

Mr. Cobb was a member of the Royal Household where he served Her Majesty the Queen of England. He also served in the Royal Air Force.

George married the love of his life, June and took on six children. They owned and operated a café in England. In the United States he became Weatherford’s Irish Friend; George never met a stranger. He was an employee of Brookshire’s.

Elizabeth Ann Matteson Cinnamon, 57, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2010, after suffering ill health for many years.

Elizabeth was born in Dumas on November 8, 1953. After birth she lived in Quanah until she was 12. Her family then moved to Azle where she became a longtime resident. Elizabeth was a graduate of Azle High School and soon after married David Cinnamon. Together they had two wonderful children, Cindy and Bill. Elizabeth enjoyed spending time with family and friends, spoiling her grandchildren and most of all to laugh.

Gary StultsGarry L. Stults, age 55, of Weatherford, passed away early Thursday morning, December 16, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born June 22, 1955 in Weatherford. Garry was a loving Daddy, “Pepaw”, Husband, Brother and Uncle. He was a Nuclear Electrical Engineer and he loved golf, woodworking and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Even in his last hours his concern was not for himself, but for his loved ones. He was known to his kids and grandkids as “superman” because he was he strongest man they knew. He will be missed dearly.. Garry was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Stults, father, Bob Stults, brother, Stanley Stults.

Juanita Medina Sanchez, 58, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2010 with her family at her side in Austin, Texas.

Juanita was born on December 2, 1952 in Amarillo, TX and was a graduate of Millsap High School and Weatherford College. She was employed with Austin and Weatherford Independent School Districts.

Juanita is survived by her companion, Mick Nelson; son, Paul Sanchez and wife Courtney; daughter, Christina Sanchez; sister, Gloria Medina Black and husband, Greg; brothers, Nicholas Medina, Jr., Daniel Medina and Paula and Samuel Medina; two grandchildren, Kendall and Brendan Sanchez and numerous nieces and nephews.

Billie D. (Bill) Shannon, Weatherford, Texas passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2010 after an extended illness. His remains will be cremated and placed in a niche along side of his wife’s ashes in Annetta Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel will make all arrangements.

Life is a brief journey here on earth down a path of a combination of our choice, God’s guidance and by chance and should be lived to the fullest since it only occurs once. Bill’s belief was that life is all about attitude and that a positive attitude, belief and trust in our Lord, Meeting adversity head on, accepting what we can not change and changing that which we can, would lead to positive outcomes.

Doris Blakley, 76, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 in Fort Worth with her family by her side.
Graveside Service: 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Azleland Memorial Park. Doris Blakley Doris, the daughter of Odell and Mildred Bynum, was born in Mt. Pleasant July 22, 1934. She was a longtime resident of Fort Worth. Doris loved being a mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, D.B. Blakley; a brother and a sister.
Survivors:daughter, Linda Dysart and husband, Charles of Azle; son, Mike Morris of Fort Worth; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; also numerous friends, acquaintances and church family.

Elton Lee Durant, 87, passed away at home December 3, 2010. He was born October 8, 1923 in Buffalo, Texas to Ben F. Durant and Clara Durant.

Elton served in WW II as a Merchant Marine in the North Atlantic, Alaska and France on D-Day. While docked in Barry, South Wales he met the love of his life and wife of 65 years, Lucy. They married July 4, 1945. After moving to Weatherford in 1951 he was employed at General Dynamics in Fort Worth. In the early 1960’s he took over as manager of the Jamison Egg Farm (later Hisey Egg Farms) until starting Durant’s Automotive with his two sons.

Mr. Durant was preceded in death by his parents, son, Duane, brother, Lawrence and granddaughter, Sheila.
