Darwin Guy was born December 7, 1939 to Doris and Vernon Hahn in Port Angeles, Washington. He was adopted at the age of three by Charlie and Ruth Guy of Macksville, Kansas. He married Anna Hagewood in Trousdale, Kansas on October 8, 1961.

Darwin served four years in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Mac Dill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. He served one tour of duty in Thailand and Vietnam. Darwin joined Gideons International in 1976 and served in local and state positions as he pursued his passion to get God’s word into the hands of people everywhere.

He owned and operated Springtown Feed and Fertilizer from 1976-1990. During that time he owned and operated several convenience stores in the Springtown area.

Clifton Hughes

Clifton was a longtime resident of Springtown and was a rancher on "the farm" in Agnes. He was known as the "super plumber" at PVI, Industries where he retired in 1982. He began his own business working with comercial boilers and water heaters which continues today.

As a young man, Clifton worked extremely hard to support his family. He met his wife of 54 years, Rheta McAlpine, in Lott in 1951. They were blessed with two sons. The 54 roses on the casket are a symbol of the 54 years of love between Clifton and Rheta.

Clifton was preceded in death by his father and mother; two brothers; and two sisters.

Judy Buckland was born April 29, 1958, in Owenton, Ky., daughter of the late Granville and Carolyn Ferguson. She graduated from Owenton High School with the class of 1976 and furthered her education at Georgetown College, where she received a Bachelor's degree. Judy married Steve Buckland in 1979 in Marcus, Ky., and they were blessed with three girls. Judy and Steve moved to Weatherford in 2005 and she became very active at First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and started the Women's Ministry. She was also the VBS director and worked VBS for several years.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Teresa.

Alford David Farrell

Alford David Farrell was born August 1, 1929, son of the late William and Althea Jones Farrell in Whites Chapel. He was a long time resident of Springtown. Mr. Farrell honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was employed for 43 years at General Dynamics.

Alford loved to complete projects and tinker around his work shop. Livestock and gardening were a very important part of his life.

Alford was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a sister.

Jerry Ben Smiley: Jerry Smiley was born May 7, 1938, son of the late Sam and Mary Griffin Smiley in San Angelo. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as a fighter pilot and was a retired Captain for American Airlines.Jerry was preceded in death by his son-in-law, George Shockley. Survivors: wife, Mary Smiley; daughter, Sheryl Shockley; sons, Robert Smiley and Jerry Don Smiley; step-son, Charles Bogard; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Liah Diane Riddle: Liah Diane Riddle was born April 2, 1963 to Frederick & Donna Wagoner Peckler in Bellflower, California. She was a longtime resident of Springtown. Liah was an avid hunter and wonderful cook. She loved to crochet and fish. Her animals were the delight of her life. Liah was preceded in death by one brother. Survivors: husband, Nez Riddle, of Springtown; sisters, Nelva, Kim, Salina and Cindy; brothers, Cliff, Gene, Tracy, Richard, Don and Ed; parents, David and Donna, Fred and Artie; special pets, Harley, Abby, Paula and Lucky; numerous friends and acquaintances.

Virginia Ann Witherspoon

The daughter of Ruby and Orville Milburn, she was born in Parker County on July 8, 1929, and was a graduate of Weatherford High School, Weatherford College and North Texas State University, from which she received her master's degree in education.

Ann enjoyed 50 years of marriage to William O. "Bill" Witherspoon, which was blessed by four sons - Mike (Debbie), Mark (Brenda), Tommy and John. Bill and John preceded her in death. She taught school for eight years in Jacksboro and worked 21 years in Weatherford as a teacher, coordinator and counselor. She helped design and implement the WISD Elementary Guidance and Counseling Program in four schools.

Danny Joe Piper was born Feb. 2, 1966, in Odessa, son of Joe and Charlene Bennett Piper. He attended Garner School for eight years and graduated from Peaster High School. Danny obtained his agricultural business degree from Tarleton State University. He was a proud member of FFA.

Survivors: Daughter, Danielle Piper; father, Joe Piper and wife, Margie; mother, Charlene Durham; stepfather, Donald Durham; sister, Tammy Gilbreath; stepbrothers and stepsisters; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and close friend, Loraine.

Phyllis Jean Hoy

Phyllis was born April 8, 1937 in Washington, PA to John and Hilda Krocker.

Phyllis was a loving wife of 55 years, a grandmother of four, aunt of to 27 nieces and nephews and dear friend of many. She was an active member of the Extension Homemakers club of Lake Weatherford and a dedicated parent in many of her children’s activities as they were growing up.

Betty Lou Clark

Betty was born December 28, 1929 in Jacksonville, Florida to Harold W. and Myrtle R. Hopkins Thomas. She was a longtime resident of Boyd, was very active in her church and a true Christian. Betty was an accomplished oil painter. She loved sewing, flowers and especially her family.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; a son; a brother and her husband.

Survivors: sons, Frank Clark and wife, Sharlotte of Paradise and James G. Clark (Debra) of Texarkana; sister, Sue Morrison and husband, Leon of Fla; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; special friend, Billie Lambert; also numerous friends and acquaintances.
