Jimmie Wilcox Doggett was born on February 17, 1923, to Corbie and Bessie (Goodman) Wilcox at her grandparents' home in Mart, Texas. She lived with her maternal grandparents during her early years to attend school, but returned each summer to her parent's remote farm established in 1890 in Mills County. Mrs. Doggett was the oldest of nine children.

Jimmie married Noble Elroy Doggett on July 1, 1939. The Doggett family moved to Weatherford in 1955 after years of following construction jobs. In Weatherford, Mrs. Doggett ensured her seven children were actively involved at North Side Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Mrs. Doggett served as James Bowie Elementary School's PTA President and was continuously motivated in fund raisers and school activities. Education was stressed to her children as she provided private tutoring to various students of all ages.

Jimmie Doggett strived to instill self-assurance to each child by proving goals could be accomplished through hard work. She remodeled her beloved home countless times, reupholstered furniture, sewed for her family, and constantly created hand craft items for birthday and Christmas gifts.

Her first job outside her home was for the Palace Theater. As the youngest child, Robert, matured, she began working at Beall's Department Store. She taught herself to type, accompanied with her natural understanding of math skills; she became the Credit Manager for Sears and later Western Auto until her retirement.

Samuel Barton Fox

Samuel Barton Fox was born on January 25, 1930 in Abilene, Texas as the oldest of the four sons of Norma Billingsley Fox and Lige Fox. Sam was 30 minutes older than his twin brother, Jim and never let a day pass that he didn’t remind him.

Sam proudly and patriotically served his country in the US Navy from 1949 to 1955, first as a Fire Controlman on the USS Knox and then in the US Naval Reserve. Sam had a long and distinguished career first with Convair and later with General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin for over 40 years in many positions ranging from the Assembly Line to Inspections to Service Engineering. Sam was devout in his faith and service to Jesus Christ being a founding member of Calvary United Methodist church and eagerly taking on any job to serve the Lord. Sam’s love for his family knew no bounds. As a husband he doted on his wife. As a father he treasured his children. And as a grandfather he spoiled his grandchildren.

Beyond the joys of his church and family, Sam always considered himself a farmer. Many hot summer afternoons were spent in his fields of vegetables teaching his children the joys of hard work. Sam’s pride and joy was his farm and his tractor and the vegetables and fruits canned and ready for big family dinners.

Foy served the people of Springtown as their mayor for several years. Foy and Billie loved their church family that extended to many places around the world, but specifically the members of the Church of Christ in Springtown.
