Rep. Kay GrangerRep. Kay Granger (R-Fort Worth) will be the keynote speaker at the annual Zonta of Parker County Status of Women Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center in Weatherford. In her eighth term, Rep. Granger represents the 12th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, the first Republican woman to represent Texas in the House.
In addition to Granger’s address, the luncheon honors the 2012-13 ZCPC scholarship recipients and will introduce the ZCPC Clubwoman of the Year for 2011-12.
“Rep. Granger is no stranger to us here in Weatherford,” said Linda Bagwell, ZCPC president. “She has served as a role model for many of us women here and beyond, actually, and is the perfect choice to keynote the most important of our Zonta lunches during the year. Our mission – to advance the status of women – has long been a charge for Rep. Granger, as well.”
“We certainly want to extend the invitation and open the doors wide for Parker County to come and get to know what Zonta of Parker County is all about,” Bagwell said. “ZCPC is an extraordinary club, and our members are those who understand not only the local but the global perspective, as well, of our responsibility to advance the status of women in whatever way we can.”
