Special to The Community NewsHudson Oaks Mayor Pat Deen presented the Key to the City to Aledo ISD Superintendent Dan Manning at the regular city council meeting on Jan. 26. The city council was honoring the accomplishments of the Bearcats football team and the student population at AISD.
Deen said the presentation was the first time Hudson Oaks had ever presented the Key to the CIty to anyone.
The proclamation from the city reads as follows:

WHEREAS, the Hudson Oaks community is proud to be part of the Aledo Independent School District, and
WHEREAS, the 2011 Aledo Bearcats football team has achieved tremendous success, winning the Class 4A, Division II State Championship, and
WHEREAS, this is the fourth time in Aledo High School history that the football team has won a state championship, and the third consecutive year in which the Bearcats have done so in Class 4A, and
WHEREAS, throughout the 2011 season, Bearcats players and coaches have performed with character and embodied good sportsmanship, and
WHEREAS, this team includes a significant number of graduating seniors who have been part of an historic era in Aledo’s football program, and
WHEREAS, the entire Hudson Oaks community wants to congratulate the 2011 Aledo Bearcats football team on its proud accomplishments;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Pat Deen, Mayor of the City of Hudson Oaks, Texas do hereby extend the congratulations of the City Council and entire Hudson Oaks community to the Aledo Bearcats Football Team and its coaching staff, and proclaim January 27, 2012 as
ALEDO BEARCATS DAY
in the City of Hudson Oaks.
