Weatherford Police Department Crime of the Week, August 15, 2011

On 08-15-11 at approx 1045 hrs I,Ofc Beniak was dispatched to 1012 Duke St in reference to a civil standby. While on scene it was discovered that Melissa Ford (w/f 32yoa) had a warrant for her arrrest out of WPD for DWLI. Ford was taken into custody for that warrant.

On Monday, August 15, 2011, at 1118hrs, I, Ofc S. Chalmers 61, was dispatched to a business located at 601 Palo Pinto St in Weatherford, Texas, in reference to a shoplifter in custody. When I arrived on scene, I made contact with the complainant, Jeffrey Minatra (w/m 41yoa), who advised that Charles Luther Haralson (wm 21yoa) had been observed selecting and concealing items valued at $8.46, and then leaving the store, bypassing all points of sale, without purchasing the concealed items. Haralson was cited for Class C Theft <$50.00.

On Monday, 08-15-2011 at 1158hrs reporting Officer (J. Hayes #56) was dispatched to the 1900 block of Clear Lake Dr. to an abandoned residence that several teenaged individuals were seen walking towards. Due to recent illegal activity at that location I was familiar with the residence. Upon arrival I located five teenagers under the carport of the residence. During my investigation l located a small amount of marijuana one of the individuals identified as a Kevin Eric Campbell (w/m 17yoa). Campbell was subsequently arrested for possession of marijuana less than two ounce and transported to the Parker County jail. A report for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces was completed.

August 15, 2011, at 1419hrs, I, Ofc S. Chalmers 61, was dispatched to 116 La Colina in Weatherford, Texas, in reference to a burglary of a habitation. When I arrived on scene, I made contact with Joanna Hughes (wf 44yoa). Hughes advised that known suspects entered her residence without her effective consent and took a firearm and several narcotic pain medications out of the residence. Both suspects were identified and a report was completed. The report was forwarded to CID for follow-up investigation.

On Monday, 08-15-2011 at 1523hrs reporting Officer (J. Hayes #56) was dispatched in reference to a theft of a gas can at 1004 W. Ball St. Upon arrival I made contact with the complainant a Sandra Sorrells (w/f 32yoa) who advised that an unknown male subject walked up on her front porch and stole a gas can with about 4.5 gallons of gas in it around 1516hrs this date. A report for theft less than $50 was completed.

Officer E. Warren spoke with Rusty Holbrooks (w/m 26yoa) at the Weatherford Police Department. Mr. Holbrooks reported on Saturday 08-13-2011 an unknown person used his debit card in Milford Connecticut, without his consent. An offense report was taken for fraudulent use or possession of identifying information.

On 08-15-11 at approx 1547 hrs I, Ofc Beniak was dispatched to 801 Santa Fe Dr in reference to a theft. Upon my arrival I made contact with Arlie Wayne McCormick (w/m 61yoa). McCormick advised that an unknown person was using his debit card in New York to purchase various items at various stores without his permission. A report was taken for identity theft.

On August 15, 2011 I, Ofc. T. Bramow 78 was dispatched to the police station in reference to an assault. Upon arrival I made contact with a wf female (31yoa) who advised that she had been assaulted by a known person on 08-15-2011 at approximately 1800. The assault occurred in the 100 block of Front St. A report was made for Assault by contact.

On 08/15/2011 at approximately 20:17 hrs WPD Officers Holcomb and Watson were dispatched to assist Detective Westendorf locate a possibly armed burglary suspect in the area of N Mill St and Estel St. Officers made a positive identification of the known suspect Perry, Jeffrey Allen W/M 23 yrs. Perry ran from Officers into a residence in the 600 block of Estel St. Perry was taken into custody for Evading Arrest or Detention. On call CID was notified and responded to the incident scene. A report was generated.
