Weatherford Police Department News Blotter August 6, 2011

On Friday, August 5, 2011 I, Ofc. D. Feare #59, was dispatched to the Weatherford Police Department to meet complainant Carl Wesley Cox (w/m 53yoa) in reference to the fraudulent use of his bank debit card information. Cox told me he lives at 808 E Second St., Weatherford, Parker County, Texas, but a purchase was made on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at a store in Sterling Heights, Michigan using his card information. This was done without his consent and with the intent to defraud him.

On Friday, August 5, 2011, at 0920hrs, I, Ofc S. Chalmers 61, was dispatched to contact a complainant in reference to reckless driving that occurred on east bound Interstate 20 between the 409mm and 410mm in Weatherford, Texas. I made contact with Robin Wester (wf 37yoa) who advised an orange Saturn Vue had run her off of the road between 0700 and 0900hrs this morning. A report was taken for Reckless Driving due to the suspect operating her vehicle without due regard for the safety of other vehicles on the roadway. The suspect was identified and admitted to being on the interstate in the area when the incident is said to have occurred.

At 09:44 hours this date I (Houghton #375) was dispatched to a residence in the 1200 block of Van Winkle in reference to a theft. Upon arrival I made contact with Maddux, Hollie A (w/f 43yoa). Maddux indicated that sometime between the evening of August 2, 2011 and the evening of August 4, 2011 an unknown person(s) took approximately 30 Hydrocodone pills from her bathroom. A theft report was filed.

On Friday 08/05/11 at approximately 09:49 reporting officers (Vinson #26) conducted a minor tobacco sting at 107 IH 20 W. Officers observed the store clerk, identified as Earl Heiderhoff (w/m 62yoa), sell tobacco products to a person known to be under 17 years old. Heiderhoff sold a cigarette or tobacco product to a person who was under 18 years of age. Heiderhoff was cited for Sale of/Give Tobacco Products to a Minor.

On Friday 08/05/11 at approximately 10:06 reporting officer (Vinson #26) conducted a minor tobacco sting at 102 IH 20 E. Officers observed the store clerk, identified as Mohamad Chehade (A/M 52yoa), sell tobacco products to a person known to be under 17 years old. Chehade sold a cigarette or tobacco product to a person who was under 18 years of age. Chehade was cited for Sale of/Give Tobacco Products to a Minor.

On Friday, August 5, 2011 I, Ofc. D. Feare #59, was dispatched to the Weatherford Police Department to meet complainant Laura Anderson Powell (w/f 52yoa) in reference to a burglary of a habitation. Powell told me this happened at her home located at 315 Bryan St., Weatherford, Parker County, Texas and was done by an unknown person(s) sometime between July 31, 2011 and August 2, 2011. Entry was made to the residence and a shed without her consent and with the intent to commit the theft of two window air conditioning units, tools, and desktop computer components. A burglary of a habitation report was made for this incident.

On Friday 08/05/11 at approximately 13:08 reporting officer (Vinson #26) conducted a minor tobacco sting at 1125 Palo Pinto St. Officers observed the store clerk, identified as Chandra Vecchione (w/f 28yoa), sell tobacco products to a person known to be under 17 years old. Vecchione sold a cigarette or tobacco product to a person who was under 18 years of age. Vecchione was cited for Sale of/Give Tobacco Products to a Minor.

On Friday 08/05/11 at approximately 13:34 reporting officer (Vinson #26) conducted a minor tobacco sting at 102 Santa Fe Dr. Officers observed the store clerk, a white male juvenile (16yoa), sell tobacco products to a person known to be under 17 years old. The clerk sold a cigarette or tobacco product to a person who was under 18 years of age.The clerk was cited for Sale of/Give Tobacco Products to a Minor.

On Friday 08/05/11 at approximately 14:02 reporting officer (Vinson #26) conducted a minor tobacco sting at 400 Santa Fe Dr. Officers observed the store clerk, identified as Tammie Tallas (w/f 50yoa), sell tobacco products to a person known to be under 17 years old. Tallas sold a cigarette or tobacco product to a person who was under 18 years of age. Tallas was cited for Sale of/Give Tobacco Products to a Minor.

On 08-05-2011 at approx 1558 hrs. I was dispatched to contact a complainant by telephone in reference to an unauthorized use of a vehicle. I made contact with the complainant Tracie Berry (w/f 30 yoa) who stated that a known person (w/f 28 yoa) had taken her vehicle (2003 Nissan), from a residence, without her consent. The complainant does wish to file charges against the person(s) responsible as they intentionally and knowingly operated another's motor propelled vehicle without the effective consent of the owner. An unauthorized use of a vehicle report was taken.

08-05-2011 at 18:12 hrs CPL Goff and I (T.Wainscott) Officers with the Weatherford Pd, were dispatcher to 2202 Trevor Dr. Weatherford TX to a theft call. Upon arrival I spoke with Edward Lamont Halstead (b/m 39yoa). Mr.Halstead informed me that on 08-05-2011 at 15:30 hrs he went online and checked his bank account to find that someone had used his debit card, to charge for an unknown items from a store in Elgin, Illinois without his consent and with the intent to obtain the items from a store by fraudulent means.

On Friday 08-05-2011 I reporting officer (Tippie #42) at approximately 1833 hrs. was dispatched to the 100 block of Mill Creek Ln. in reference to a Fraudulent Use or Possession of identifying Information report. I arrived on scene and made contact with the complainant , Ruby Polk Shipley (w/f 75yoa). Shipley advised that she had received a call yesterday from a business that her name, birthdate and social security number had been used to make a purchase at local retail stores on August 3rd by an unknown person. This being done by an unknown person and without Shipley's permission a report was made for the incident.

On Friday 08-05-2011 at approximately 1855 hours reporting officer (Taber 77) and Sgt. Laine were dispatched to 302 S. Main St. in reference to a fight. On arrival we met with the victim, one Victor Milton Jimenez (w/m 43yoa). Jimenez advised that two white male subjects unknown to him assaulted him causing bodily injury by punching him in the face. Jimenez advised his injuries caused him pain. LIfeCare arrived and observed Jimenez injuries but Jimenez refused further treatment. Officer Watson, Officer Bramow, and Officer Wainescott were able to locate the two male subjects and obtain their information. A report was made for Assault Causes Bodily Injury.

On Friday, August 5,2011 at approximately 2002 hrs, Weatherford Police Officer Watson was dispatched to a retail store in the 100 block of E Interstate 20 in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, responding officer identified the company's Loss Prevention Officer as Cohn, Jeremy (w/m 28yoa). Cohn reported that he had observed a 17 yr old white female select three items from the women's lingerie department valued at $14.66. The female removed the tags and concealed the items and left the store without making any attempt to purchase the merchandise. The Amber Bailey (w/f 17yoa) was issued a citation for Theft Under $50.00. A theft report was generated.

On Friday 08/05/11 at approx. 8:34pm Sgt. Laine R/O was dispatched to 2132 Tin Top Road in reference to a Hit and Run accident. R/O met with the complainant ID as Ryan Berry (w/m 27yoa) who advised that unknown persons struck his vehicle, a 2001 black Honda Accord, while it was parked in a public parking lot. There was damage to the right rear bumper of Berrys vehicle. Berry advised that he did wish to pursue charges on the person that struck his vehicle and did not inform him of the damage. An accident report and offense report was completed.

On Friday 08-05-2011 at approximately 2139 hrs. I reporting officer (Tippie #42) checked out with a Blue 2007 Honda Civic in a parking lot in the 1900 block of Ft. Worth Hwy. The businesses in the area were all closed down, it was a low light area, and no other vehicles were in the area. I believed the vehicle was suspicious for the before listed reasons. While making contact with the occupant of the vehicle I strongly smelled the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. I made contact with Seth Thomas Gaston (w/m 20yoa), the driver of the vehicle. A narcotics investigation was conducted with Gaston and marijuana and drug paraphernalia (pipe,rolling papers,burnt roaches,) were located in Gaston's vehicle. Gaston was arrested for Possession of Marijuana under two ounces. Cpl. Goff and Ofc. Wainscott assisted me in this investigation. A report was completed over this incident. End of narrative.

August 6, 2011 at approximately 0210hrs Sgt. Laine, Corporal Goff, and Officer Wainscott with the Weatherford Police Department were dispatched to a residence in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon Officer's arrival it was determined that a juvenile male had assaulted his older female sister, while his sister believed she was protecting their mother. The juvenile male had pushed his older sister down into a chain link fence, causing her pain to the chest and back area. The juvenile was detained and taken to the Weatherford Police Department to be processed. Juvenile probation determined that the juvenile needed to be placed into the Granbury Juvenile detention center. The juvenile was then transported to the Granbury juvenile detention center where he was booked in for the assault.

On Saturday 08-06-2011at approximately 0242 hours I reporting officer (Tippie #42) was dispatched to 310 W. Russell St. in reference to a prowler call. Upon arriving on scene I made contact with the complainant, Lori Kay Patton (w/f 30yoa) who advised that a Hispanic male subject had partially entered her residence against her verbal warnings to leave and without her expressed consent. I made contact with the suspect, Eduardo Alvarado (w/m 21yoa), and after an investigation was conducted he was taken into custody for the offense of Criminal Trespass (Habitation.) Pictures were taken of the window were Alvarado had attempted to enter the residence. A report was made for this incident.

On Saturday 06-08-2011 at approximately 04:14 hours reporting officer (Taber 77) was dispatched to 1836 S. Main St. in reference to criminal mischief. On arrival I met with the complainant, one Michael John Adams (w/m 53yoa). Adams advised two white male subjects unknown to him were throwing jars of caramel which shattered on the floor and throwing apples at signs. Adams advised the damage is valued under $50.00. A report was made for Criminal Mischief $0 - $50.00.
