Softball - Ladycats win 6-1
Kacie Brann struck out the side to end the first inning in a scoreless tie.
At the end of the second inning, the Ladycats led 1-0. McKalee Rouse scored on a Stephenville error on a connection by Ally Gabbert.
The score remained 1-0 after three innings.
Stephenville got a run in the top of the fourth, but Aledo responded with three more runs. Megan Mason and Ally Gabbert scored on a double by Haylee Bowden. Tori Gore then scored on a fielder's choicew to put the Ladycats up 4-1 after four innings.
Aledo added two more runs in the fifth when Stephenville mis-handled a ball but in play by Bowden. Lauren Durham and Kori Kizer crossed the plate to put Aledo up 6-1 after five innings.
The score remained 6-1 after six innings, at which time Brann had 10 strikeouts.
Brann struck out the side in the top of the seventh, giving her 13 K's for the seven innings pitched. The Ladycats will play the winner of the Burleson/Azle playoff at a date and time to be announced.
Baseball - Bearcats
Bearcats led 2-0 after the first inning on scores by Devin Watts and Matt Bishop. Matt Walker is on the mound for the Bearcats.
In the second, Caleb Frysinger and Watts scored to put Aledo up 4-0. The score remained 4-0 halfway through the third. Aledo could not add to the lead in the bottom of the third.
Halfway through the fourth the score remained Aledo 4, Trimble Tech 0.
Aledo added to it's lead in the bottom of the fifth. Ross Bronson scored on a Lawton Rinker double. Matthew Barron then crossed the plate when Sean O'Donnell hit a double. O'Donnell scored on a Trimble Tech error on a ball put in play by Frysinger. After five, Aledo led 7-0.
Aledo ended up winning on the ten-run rule after Frysinger scored on a Watts single, Rylan Riney scored on a single by Bryan Cox, and Watts and Cox crossed the plate on an error that Bishop put into play.
Aledo will face the winner of the Stephenville/Burleson playoff at a date and time to be announced.
