Constitutional activist to Speak

May 3, 2011 by Anonymous

Event Date:
Thu, 05/12/2011 - 11:30am

Dr. Virginia Armstrong

Dr. Virginia Armstrong, of the Blackstone Institute, will be the featured speaker at the May 12 meeting of Parker County Republican Women. The meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Doss Heritage Center in Weatherford.

According to a release from PCRW, “Dr. Armstrong will motivate the audience to engage in defending the Constitution. Blackstone Workshops offer a unique blend of the academic and the activist, believing that both are absolutely essential to a Constitutionalist victory in America’s Culture War.”

As president of the Blackstone Institute, Armstrong, has had a distinguished academic career as Director and Senior Professor of Legal Studies and Political Science at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. She now devotes her attention to the Eagle Forum's Court Watch Project of which she is the National Chairman and to the Blackstone Institute, which she founded.

Dr. Armstrong also founded the Texas Undergraduate Moot Court Association and HSU's Legal Studies Program and served as the first Chairman of each organization. As a college professor, Dr. Armstrong taught a number of advanced law courses, including constitutional history and law, legal philosophy, and the judicial process. She directed HSU’s federal court internship program and coached the University’s award-winning moot court team.

The public is encouraged to attend. For reservations, call Nancy Klein at 817-683-1551 or e-mail ParkerCoRepublicanWomenRSVP@gmail.com
