From the Parker County Sheriff's Office
The Parker County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the death of two people found at a residence Friday afternoon, Oct. 22.
Sheriff Larry Fowler said the victims were said to be husband and wife and both appeared to have suffered fatal gunshot wounds. The call was placed to dispatch just after 1 p.m. Deputies responded to the 4300 block of Tin Top Road in Weatherford, where the couple was discovered in the yard of the home near a rear entrance of the residence.
A family friend was said to have visited the home to check on the welfare of the couple, found the couple and dialed 9-1-1. A handgun was found at the scene, which will be processed as evidence and submitted to a crime lab.
Fowler said there was not a history of calls for the address. The victims were transported to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office in Fort Worth for autopsies on both subjects. The man and woman were identified as James Good, 67, and Jean Good, 73.
Investigators are not releasing further details of the incident, pending the ongoing investigation and autopsy results.
“We are still obviously in the early stages of the investigation,” Fowler said. “The manner and means of the deaths will be withheld pending autopsies. We do not wish to speculate beyond what we currently know. Any casualty such as this is just a sad situation all the way around.”
