Rev. Dr. Mitzi Ellington, a pastoral counselor at Aledo UMC, will lead a six-week group aimed to provide women an opportunity to foster personal growth and make the life changes they wish to make by re-authoring their life story. Classes will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. from Oct. 1 to Nov. 5. Opportunities will be provided to identify and address emotional concerns and issues that might hinder one from taking action on behalf of one's self; discover mutual empowerment and support from other women; and engage stories of Jesus and his encounters with women from empowering perspectives based on the book, Do What You Have the Power to Do by Helen Bruch Pearson. Book purchase is not required. The fee is $50. Register through the church by calling Kim at 817-441-8329.
