Event Date:
Fri, 03/14/2014 - 8:00pm

“Nunsense” is coming to Parker County.
Theatre Off The Square In Weatherford proudly presents its 2014 musical, “Nunsense,” written by Dan Goggin, and produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. The comedy is directed by Darla Robinson, and the musical direction is by Hans Grim. Assistant director is Ray Shannon, and Hank Minor is stage manager. The show begins Friday, March 14 and runs weekends through March 30.
Robinson has more than 30 years of theatrical experience in the Metroplex. She has appeared at Casa Mañana, Theatre Arlington, Circle Theatre, Scott Theatre, and many civic groups. She is on the advisory boards for Circle Theatre and Kids Who Care in Fort Worth. This is her fourth production as director for Theatre Off The Square. She is a realtor with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.
A music director and pianist, Hans Grim has provided direction for theatres including Casa Mañana, Texas Christian University, WaterTower Theatre, Theatre Arlington, University of North Texas, and Granbury Opera House. He also produced five musicals for Aledo Musicals and was the originating music director for the national tour of the 3 Redneck Tenors. As a keyboardist, he played for the national tour of Mamma Mia, as well as appearing with the Dallas Wind Symphony, the Irving Symphony Orchestra, and the University of North Texas Chamber Orchestra. Grim is choir director for North Side High School in Fort Worth.
This faith-based full-length musical comedy is a winner of four Critics Circle Awards including Best Off Broadway Musical in its original New York production. The show is about a fund raiser put on by the Little Sisters of Hoboken to raise money to bury sisters accidentally poisoned by the convent cook, Sister Julia. This internationally known hit will have you laughing as you enjoy the hilarious situations and wonderful music.
Members of the cast are Judi Conger, playing Sister Mary Regina, Mother Superior; Jaclyn Justice as Sister Mary Hubert, second in command; Melissa Whiteman as Sister Robert Anne, a streetwise nun; Kate Cowling as Sister Mary Amnesia, a nun who has lost her memory; and Amanda Johnson, novice, who wants to become the first nun ballerina.
Show times are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Theatre Off The Square, the only live theatre in Weatherford, is located at 114 North Denton Street.
