Tickets for No. 2 Bearcats/No. 1 Lake Travis game now on sale

Pre-sale tickets for the No. 2 Aledo Bearcats football game at No. 1 Lake Travis go on sale today (Wednesday, Sept. 8) at the Bearcat Store in the Aledo ISD administration building and at Aledo High School.

Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for students.

The game will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at Lake Travis High School.

Tickets will be sold from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Due to early dismissal at all Aledo ISD campuses, tickets will be sold Friday from 8-10 a.m.

Adult and student tickets at the gate will be $7.

Sweet revenge: Gray, Bearcats run past Weatherford, 48-13

Gray rushes for 210 yards, scores 5 touchdowns

Aledo junior all-state running back Johnathan Gray rushed for 210 yards and scored five touchdowns as the Class 4A No. 2 Bearcats cruised to a 48-13 victory over Weatherford Friday night at Bearcat Stadium.

The win avenges the Bearcats' one point loss at Weatherford last year - the only loss of 2009 for the state champions.

Ladycats sweep WF Rider, 25-18, 25-17, 25-14

Aledo senior hitters Jordan Jacobs and Christa Daniel each recorded nine kills and sophomore middle Briana Sharratt added eight kills and three blocks to lead the Ladycats to a 25-18, 25-17, 25-14 sweep over Wichita Falls Rider Friday night (Sept. 3) in non-district action at the AHS gym.

The win raises the Ladycats' record to 17-8. Aledo will conclude non-district play at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7 at North Crowley. The District 5-4A opener will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at home against Birdville.

Sharratt sent down four kills in the opening game, with Jacobs and Daniel each adding three stoppers. In game two, the pair each registered four kills to pace the Ladycats.

Aledo senior middle hitter Jordan Jacobs recorded a match-high 15 kills and sophomore middle Briana Sharratt added a season-high 10 kills with senior Christa Daniel registering six kills as the trio led the Ladycats to a 25-20, 25-18, 15-25, 25-21 victory over Stephenville Tuesday night in non-district action at the AHS gym.

Bus shuttle offered for Aledo-Weatherford game

Beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, Aledo ISD will provide shuttles for this week's football game against Weatherford High School. Due to the expected overflow amount of traffic, buses will run between Willow Park Baptist Church and Bearcat Stadium, and between Aledo United Methodist Church and Bearcat Stadium.

Pick-up and drop-off schedules will hold true for both Willow Park Baptist Church, located at 129 S. Ranch House Road in Aledo, and Aledo United Methodist Church, at 313 Pecan St.

Meet The Ladycats Night planned for Tuesday's home opener

Ladycats hope for big crowd at home opener against rival Honeybees

After almost a month on the road, the Aledo Ladycats volleyball team will play its home opener at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, against Stephenville.

It is also "Meet the Ladyacts Night" which begins at 5 p.m. as children and fans can get autographs from the Ladycats.

Bearcats handle Stephenville, 20-3, in season opener

The Aledo Ladycats volleyball team raised its record to 11-6 after a convincing 25-15, 25-16, 25-12 sweep over Denton Guyer Tuesday night (Aug. 24) in a non-district match at Guyer.

Still on the road in non-district play, the Aledo Ladycats volleyball team will play today (Tuesday, Aug. 24) at Denton Guyer.

The freshman and junior varsity contests will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by the varsity match at approximately 6:30 p.m.

The Ladycats (9-6) will play at the Fredericksburg tournament this weekend before finally playing its home opener on Tuesday, Aug. 31, against Stephenville.
